Debborah Abitbol has recognised expertise in international law, in particular international business law, common law and international tax law, and in that capacity advises business and private clients wishing to establish themselves in Israel. She also practises international criminal law, notably in complex extradition proceedings between France and Israel.
Holding a doctorate in law, Debborah Abitbol is a graduate of the Panthéon-Assas Doctoral School in international law and of the University of Paris II – Panthéon-Assas (Master’s in “Judicial Careers” and DEA in “International Law and International Trade”).
She is a member of the Paris and Jerusalem Bars.
Before founding Abitbol & Associés, she worked in Paris in the international law department of Clifford Chance and at Groupe Consultant France, a firm specialising in international taxation.
From 2001 to 2004, she worked alongside the President of the 10th Criminal Chamber B at the Paris Courthouse (criminal section) and the Deputy Public Prosecutor of the Paris Prosecutor’s Office, section A3.
Since 2009, Debborah Abitbol has been an external consultant to the Israeli Ministry of Justice (Public Defender’s Office). In this capacity, she represents her clients before the Israeli courts, including the Courts of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
As a lawyer admitted to both Bars, she is also called upon to draft expert opinions in civil, commercial and criminal exequatur proceedings.
